Watermelon diet: what's the point?

The main food in the watermelon diet, as you might guess, is watermelon pulp. Also, after breakfast, lunch and dinner, a few slices of watermelon should be eaten as a dessert, and 3-4 juicy watermelon slices should be eaten around 12 noon (lunch time). However, do not exceed: you can eat a maximum of 2 kg of watermelon per day, but no more.

90% of the watermelon diet is water. Although watermelon is a sugar product, its caloric content is estimated to be low - up to 40 kcal / 100 g of watermelon pulp. Thanks to this property, watermelon is perfectly saturated, relieves hunger, but is absorbed almost immediately.

In addition to water, watermelon also contains a large amount of fiber, which helps restore the efficient digestive system and removes excess fluid from the tissues.

Thus, the watermelon diet is an excellent remedy for edema. Along with water, harmful substances and toxins are washed out of tissues and skin cells, which means that the skin is cleansed, renewed and gives a healthier look.

The benefits of a watermelon diet

In addition to helping to give your body a seductive, slim outline, the watermelon diet also saturates the body with some useful ingredients. Among them: potassium, magnesium, valuable vitamins A, C, B, and vitamin PP.

Characteristics of the watermelon diet

Only fresh and ripe fruits are suitable for a watermelon diet. How to choose the right watermelon? In a quality fruit, the skin is thick and if we scrape it lightly with my nails, there will be no dents on it, only the top thin layer will peel off slightly.

If you hit a watermelon like a ball with the palm of your hand, the sound is by no means deaf, but sonorous, slightly vibrating.

Another important question is how to properly store watermelons during the watermelon diet. Correct answer: in the refrigerator, the fruit cut into pieces wrapped in foil.

During the watermelon diet, you should focus on protein foods and vegetables, excluding sweets, fats, and alcohol from the menu for a while. The latter is complete and without exception. The fact that watermelon in combination with alcohol often causes severe indigestion.

The duration of the watermelon diet should not exceed 10 days, the next course can be completed no earlier than one month later. That ten days is plenty to lose 2-6 pounds in the end.
